Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who have serious barriers to graduation and/or employment.  In more than three decades of operation, JAG has delivered consistent, compelling results – helping over one million young people stay in school through graduation, pursue postsecondary education and secure quality entry-level jobs leading to career advancement opportunities.

Walmart Foundation Invests $800,000 in 19 JAG State Organizations

The $800,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation for 19 of our Affiliates has moved into the implementation phase.  The grant is largely directed to the 19 State Organizations that operate as non-profits (or that have a supporting non-profit dedicated to their work).  The recipients of the Walmart Grant have all begun submitting Implementation Plans consistent with the requirements of the grant, which has two central priorities:

President Obama Recognizes JAG Credentialing Strategy

President Obama recognized Jobs for America's Graduates and two other youth-serving organizations that have agreed to establish goals for substantially expanding opportunities for young people to earn skills credentials over the next five years.

Secretary Arne Duncan Keynoted JAG National Thought Leader Event, Hosted by Governor Jack Markell (DE)

The 2011 National Thought Leader Event was hosted by Governor Jack Markell as Chair and featured U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.  The focus was on SOLUTIONS for high-risk minority youth – both academic and economic.
