Celebrating Jobs for Delaware Graduates on Their Path to Success

There were thousands of reasons Jobs for Delaware Graduates had for gathering and celebrating today at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington.

More than 300 guests, including Governor and Mrs. Markell, U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, and former Congressman Mike Castle enjoyed a breakfast and a program with speakers who noted the remarkable achievements of some of the 60,000 students who have graduated from the Delaware program since its inception.  “This program is the real deal,” said Governor Markell as he spoke to guests.

Governor Tomblin recommended that Jobs for West Virginia Graduates, Inc. receive a grant of $130,000

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (October 25, 2016) - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced 11 state recommendations for the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Investment Program grants, totaling more than $5.1 million in grant funding. 

ASA CEO Richard Wahlquist Named to Board of Jobs for America's Graduates

Richard Wahlquist, president and chief executive officer of the American Staffing Association, was unanimously elected to the Jobs for America’s Graduates board of directors in late August. The JAG board is composed of 11 state governors (the largest number to serve on any board in the U.S.), national and state government leaders, national community leaders, educators, and business leaders, and is currently chaired by Gov. Phil Bryant of Mississippi.

JAG-Kansas Kicks Off PBL Training with a Bang!

Just weeks after the 2016-2017 school year began, Kansas Career Specialists from across the state convened for Project Based Learning training. The theme, “Celebrate good times..come on!” was incorporated to get Specialists excited about implementing PBL in the classroom.

JAG Nevada wins three-quarters of $1 Million to boost NV graduation rates, $2.3 Million of three years

LAS VEGAS, NV —Jobs For Nevada’s Graduates (JAG Nevada), a non-profit embedded in Nevada schools has been awarded more than three-quarter of a million dollars to boost graduation rates in the state, beating out 32 other states that applied for the "Go Deep" grant from JAG National. The money will be used to help more than 600 youth at Canyon Springs, Cheyenne, Mojave and Legacy High schools to boost graduation rates, assist with employment, college entrance and/or vocational training.

Jobs for Georgia's Graduates Launches 3-Year Program Partnership in Northeast Georgia

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), University of North Georgia (UNG) and Hall County Schools today announced a partnership to launch a three-year pilot program designed to significantly improve graduation rates for at-risk students.

They will implement the GDOL’s Jobs for Georgia’s Graduates (JGG) program at Johnson High School in Gainesville, and plan to expand throughout northeast Georgia. JGG is a highly successful school-to-career transition program for high school students who have personal and/or vocational barriers to entering higher education or employment.

JAG-Tennessee Supply Drive for Football Programs Collects $25,000

Completing its 35th anniversary year of serving over one million of the nation’s most at-risk and disadvantaged young people, Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) announces the results of its services to the JAG Class of 2015.  JAG provides a full 12 months of intensive support after graduation to help ensure a successful transition to work, college, or – for about half the students – both.
