As a member of the US HR leadership team, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, Myrna is a staunch advocate for people. She is also dedicated to helping others understand how the HR function supports the business. She believes through strategic focus and alignment, people are capable of driving long term, sustainable business results. In her current role, Myrna supports the alignment and integration of US HR’s Communities of Expertise and HR Operating Systems tools and processes with field HR across the East zone of the US. Her principle accountabilities include but are not limited to developing and growing the field HR talent in the East zone; supporting organizational change & effectiveness; fostering an environment of strong employee relations; promoting officer and staff development; and delivering on Brand Promotion and Protection.
Myrna is extremely passionate about building and growing talent. She is often found mentoring and coaching others to reach their full potential. She is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and supports all the employee business networks and resource groups within the system. She serves on the national McDonald’s African American Council (MA2C) and supports WLN through insuring relevance in the Women’s Career Development workshop. Today she serves as Senior Advisor for the course and works with many talented women to insure the course remains relevant and meets the needs of our growing women executives under the Arches.
Myrna began her McDonald’s career in 1985.After earning her B.A. in Mass Communication from the University of Louisiana, Myrna entered the McDonald’s management training program and quickly rose to the position of restaurant manager. During this time, Myrna found her passion in the people side of the business. In 1999, she entered the field of Human Resources as a Human Resources Assistant in the Baltimore Washington region. Shortly thereafter, Myrna was promoted to a McOpCo HR consultant; and has held various roles in the HR function.
Myrna also believes in community engagement and giving back. She served on the executive board of the RMHC of Northern Virginia where she held the office of secretary. And has participated in many RMHC functions throughout the Raleigh/Durham area. She is a regular supporter of the Maryland Boys & Girls Club as well as the Juvenile Diabetes foundation. Myrna holds several offices in her local church community and consistently seeks ways to uplift others.
Myrna has been the recipient of many awards including the prestigious Presidents’ Award, Circle of Excellence Award, the former East Division President’s award, numerous HR Business Partner Awards, and countless other awards. She is also a graduate of McDonald’s LAMP.
Myrna and her husband Oliver have two adult daughters Ciana and Taylor.
