About this Role:

The role of Salesforce Administrator is a diverse one, requiring a broad mix of strategic, technical, and soft skills. While the role is titled ‘Salesforce Administrator,’ this position is a blend of Product management (including strategy and resource building), System administration (including user support and basic system configuration), Technical implementation (oversight in partnership with JAG’s development partner) and Data management.

The availability of reliable, accessible, and usable data is central to JAG’s ability to enable, deliver, and demonstrate value to key stakeholders across the nation. The System Administrator plays a critical role in JAG’s ability to deliver and communicate value and impact using data and systems. This role reports to the Vice President of Operations & Affiliate Relations and oversees the daily work of the JAG Data Analyst & Trainer to deliver value-creation activities and objectives for the organization and national network. The System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of JAG’s Salesforce instance known as JAGForce. Working closely with contract partners, JAG Affiliates and JAG National teams the System Administrator will identify, develop and deploy new business processes to ensure access to and usability of quality data. This role includes project management, system administration, roadmap planning and strategy enablement.

 Primary responsibilities:

  •   Strategic roadmap support: Participate in identifying and defining priorities for JAG National staff and Affiliates, liaise with them to balance total JAGForce system functionality with their respective priorities and needs.
  •   Operational excellence: The Salesforce Administrator keeps JAGForce running at peak efficiency. This individual seeks ways to automate JAG National and Affiliates’ processes where possible, identifies essential reports and dashboards for template creation, and supports affiliate adoption by leading training for system users and facilitating user learning cohorts so that Affiliate teams can work more effectively.
  •   JAGForce system oversight and strategic guidance: Oversee and direct technical and strategic decisions and activities in this area, including managing a 3rd party contractor. Such activities include:

  User provisioning and license management

  System configuration: Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports

  DevOps/Release Management schedule and communications

  Data quality management and governance

  System maintenance

  Maintain technical documentation

  Data contracting and Integration management

  Own the communications of JAGForce system changes to end users and stakeholders

  User adoption and activation across the entire JAG network

Qualifications

  •   Certified Salesforce Administrator 
  •   Strong Salesforce product knowledge and at least 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce Administration experience
  •   4-6 years of experience working in a Salesforce system administrator capacity
  •   2-4 years of experience managing the activities of contractors, firms, and technical vendors
  •   Working knowledge and familiarity with fundraising activities, particularly in a not-for-profit setting

Desirable Skills and Experience

  •   Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree
  •   Understanding of basic triggers/Apex code knowledge
  •   Active in the Salesforce community
  •   Demonstrates continued personal and professional development
  •   Commitment to, and strong interest in, service-oriented philanthropic work related to education and the workforce of the future

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technical capabilities:
  •   A proactive attitude to managing technology (CRM) platform enhancements
  • Designing scalable, best-practice solutions that balance organizational system changes with unique program needs
  •   Translating requirements into technical solutions
  •   Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes
  •   DevOps/ software release management experience
  •   Technical documentation writing experience
Professional skills capabilities:
  •   Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills
  •   Ability to work effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels
  •   Experience with change management and governance
  •   Available and responsive to questions and concerns
  •   Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where immediate answers may not be available

Compensation

Salary is based on level of experience and geographic location. Salary range is $80,000 to $110,000.
