At Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), we have spent more than four decades preparing young people not just to graduate, but to succeed— in work, in education, and in life. Through a proven, specialist-led model that combines classroom learning, employer engagement, and sustained coaching, JAG has helped hundreds of thousands of young people build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to navigate an increasingly complex workforce.

As the economy evolves and employers place greater emphasis on skills over credentials alone, there is a growing need for clear, trusted signals of readiness—signals that reflect not just what a young person knows, but what they can do. The JAG Workforce Readiness Credential was created to meet this need.

Grounded in research and built on decades of practice, the credential captures demonstrated performance across fifteen essential competencies spanning personal agency, collaboration, and systems navigation. It translates the everyday work happening in JAG classrooms and employer-connected experiences into a structured, interpretable signal of workforce readiness—one that is meaningful to employers, portable for learners, and aligned to real opportunity.
