Laura DeMotte leads Human Resources on behalf of over 92,000 HCA Healthcare colleagues across affiliates Parallon, HealthTrust, Sarah Cannon and Galen College of Nursing, as well as operational and clinical service lines including Clinical Services Group (Physician Practice Operations, Urgent Care, Graduate Medical Education, Lab Services), Ambulatory Surgery Division, HCA Healthcare at Home, Operations and Services Group, Information Technology Group and the Corporate Office. She is a strategic and innovative HR executive who translates business vision into HR strategy to create value for colleagues, patients, hospitals, physician practices, health systems and communities served.
Laura joined HCA Healthcare in 2007 as the Vice President of Human Resources at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. In 2014, she moved to the South Atlantic Division office where she served as Director of Leadership & Organizational Development and was instrumental in the launch of oneHR. Laura then served as Regional Vice President of Human Resources for HCA’s Capital Division from 2016 to 2018 where she led strategies which drove improved employee engagement, RN retention and recruitment. In 2018, she joined the corporate HR team in Nashville, TN as a Group VP Human Resources where she currently leads a team of over 185 HR business partners driving business imperatives in recruitment, retention, engagement and talent development.
In 2023, Laura will assume the role of Vice President, Engagement and Development leading Leadership & Organizational Development, including HCA Healthcare’s Leadership Institute, Talent
Management, and spearheading the expansion of the company’s Workforce Development strategy.
Laura holds an MBA in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from Binghamton University and completed the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan’s Ross
School of Business in 2017. She resides in Franklin, TN with her husband, Benji, and their three teenagers, all of whom are competitive swimmers. She is a certified USA Swimming Meet Official and
