President-Elect, JAG Career Association
X’Zaeviun A. Sims
Pine Bluff, Arkansas
X’Zaeviun A. Sims, a proud student at Pine Bluff High School in Arkansas, serves as the 2025–2026 JAG Career Association President-Elect, representing more than 80,000 JAG students nationwide. As the eldest of eight siblings, X’Zaeviun draws strength and compassion from his family and his grandmother, who he credits for shaping his values of service, leadership, and perseverance.
A natural leader and gifted public speaker, X’Zaeviun discovered JAG during his freshman year while volunteering through a college and career readiness class. Although officially part of the program for just a year, he has been active in his local JAG family for four, eventually serving as his chapter’s President. His favorite JAG memory is delivering speeches at the National Career Development Conference, where students he had just met offered overwhelming support and encouragement—affirming his belief in the power of authenticity and student voice.
“Leadership means lifting others as you climb,” X’Zaeviun says. “My goal is to make sure no JAG student feels like a statistic—they are the future, and they deserve to know it.”
Outside of JAG, X’Zaeviun is involved in AFJROTC, Boys State and Boys Nation, and community volunteering. He enjoys civic engagement, flying drones, and yes—watching Chicago P.D. and enjoying spicy Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
X’Zaeviun will graduate in May 2025 and plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith to study business administration with a focus on supply chain management. He also intends to join ROTC and commission as an officer in the United States Air Force before returning to Arkansas to pursue public service—with a long-term dream of becoming the Governor of Arkansas.
His goals as President-Elect include building the foundation for a national JAG Alumni Association, launching a peer mentorship initiative, and developing a local “Helping Hand Hub” model to address student needs like housing and food insecurity.
