Eileen Filler-Corn

Eileen Filler-Corn served as the 56th Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2020 to 2022, making history as the first woman and Jewish person to hold the position.

As Speaker, she led transformative progress for the Commonwealth, including making Virginia the critical 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, passing an omnibus transportation bill that established the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority, and enacting the landmark Virginia Clean Economy Act, which set the state on a path toward carbon neutrality. Under her leadership, the House’s bold actions to move the Commonwealth forward led to Virginia earning record-breaking back-to-back titles as CNBC’s Top State for Business and jumping to #23 in the nation for workers – up from dead last.

For 14 years, she represented the 41st District in the Virginia General Assembly, championing policies to protect women’s reproductive health care, expand Medicaid, raise teacher pay, and provide tuition-free community college to low- and middle-income students. Before becoming Speaker, she served as Minority Leader, Caucus Vice-Chair, and House Democratic Whip.

Today, she remains highly active across multiple fronts. Professionally, she continues to build EFC Strategies LLC while remaining active as a public speaker, sharing her journey as the 56th Speaker of the Virginia House. Additionally, she remains active in public service through her political action committee, Energized for Change, which empowers others, amplifies underrepresented voices, and drives lasting, positive change.

Eileen also serves as Chair of the Board for Jobs for Virginia Graduates and is a member of the Boards of Directors of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the Northern Virginia Task Force (Makom), the Center for Public Policy Innovation (CPPI), and ArtsFairfax. Prior to her election to the House, she served in the administrations of Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine.

Eileen and her husband, Bob, live in Springfield and remain active members of the same community where they raised their two children.
