Named as one of the 10 Most Influential Black Corporate Leaders to Watch in 2023 by CIO Views Magazine, Mac McNeil is the Founder & CEO of BERTHA Inc., a revolutionary online retail and distribution platform designed to connect Black-owned businesses from the United States and Africa with global consumers. BERTHA aims to become the premier marketplace in the world for Black-owned products across the global African diaspora, leveraging cultural heritage, quality craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial excellence.
Mac is also the Executive Director of the NCRC Community Development Fund (CDF) in Washington, D.C., where he leads all business functions and senior leadership teams of the organization. A top-performing executive with multinational business experience, he is known for his ability to motivate both large and small teams of leaders to achieve high-level, demanding goals while maintaining strong employee engagement and work satisfaction.
Previously, Mac led all Enterprise Operations for the Community Reinvestment Fund, USA, overseeing Asset Management, Credit Underwriting, Customer Engagement, Data Management & Analytics, Loan Origination & Closing, Loan Servicing, Process Governance, Risk & Controls, Technology, and Vendor Relations. Prior to that, he served as the Operations Optimization Leader for Synchrony Bank, where he spearheaded initiatives including Agile project management methodology, process improvement transformation, robotic process automation, intelligent character recognition implementation, and the management of IRA, Trust, correspondence, and ATM card operations across locations in Charlotte, NC; Merriam, KS; and Manila, Philippines. Mac is Leading Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 5.0 certified and served as the Executive Business Lead for several major projects within the bank.
Mac began his leadership journey in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst in the Special Operations Command, specializing in Psychological Operations. Following his military service, he led retail businesses before launching his banking career with Chase Bank, where he served as a District Manager in Arizona and Southern California. He later became VP/Operations Market Manager for Bank of America in the Inland Empire of California, overseeing 60 financial centers, a $2 billion P&L, and more than 500 employees.
Mac holds a Doctorate (ABD) in Management in Organizational Leadership and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, as well as a BS in Business Administration from Pfeiffer University.
He has served on several boards, including Feeding America of Greater Riverside, Inspire Life Skills Training, and was the Co-Lead for the African American Network Charlotte for Synchrony. Mac has also been featured in Who’s Who of Black Charlotte.
