Student representatives from the twenty-three (23) JAG programs across Nevada learned about state politics and careers by shadowing legislators on Monday, April 13, touring the state capitol and having a roundtable lunch with members of the Nevada Supreme Court.
"Each of our 22 high schools sent one representative to JAG Nevada Legislative Day," said Dr. René Cantú, Executive Director of JAG Nevada. "This is the culmination of a semester of activities for JAG youth who have been learning about leadership development, learning to write professional letters, sharpening their networking and public speaking skills, and they were ready to put those skills into practice."
JAG-Nevada is a non-profit program that originated in the Office of Governor Brian Sandoval in 2011 and currently serves 23 schools in 9 counties across Nevada.
