JAG Launchpad Explained
JAG Launchpad sparks a 1.5-day pre-conference learning journey to gain a deeper understanding of your content area. Whether you are brand new to JAG or a seasoned veteran, Launchpad has something for you! The sessions begin on Monday, July 14 at 1:00 pm and extend through to Tuesday, July 15 at 5:00 pm.
Options include:
New Specialists: Delivering the JAG Model and the JAG Advantage
In a highly interactive workshop focusing on JAG technology tools and practical resources to deliver JAG model services, participants will learn the ten JAG model components. Components of the JAG Advantage (Project Based Learning (PBL), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Employer Engagement (EE) will be woven throughout this workshop to prepare you for your first day of school.
Target Audience: Specialists with less than 2 years of experience.
New Managers: Leading JAG Programs
Learn the MAGIC of Managing JAG Model programs. This workshop will provide strategies to build a productive organizational culture, effectively hire, coach and release employees, time management strategies, tools for effectively guiding former peers, and the use of JAGForce and Headrush as management tools. Tips and tricks to “Manage the Advantage” will be provided throughout the workshop session.
Target Audience: Program managers with less than 2 years of experience.
JAG Leadership and Business Essentials
JAG Affiliate leaders will not want to miss this collaborative leadership session to focus on key issues impacting their organizations. Join subject matter experts as they guide us through topics focusing on fund development, marketing & communications, legal counsel, financial reporting, and innovative educational and technological practices. This session is designed to be agile and accommodate the needs of the group(s).
Target Audience: Affiliate staff in various roles including senior leadership, marketing & communications, data analysis, fund development, and human resources professionals.
Project-Based Learning: Design and Delivery
Join our partners at Empowered as they bring the JAG curriculum to life with rejuvenated instructional approaches that will increase student engagement. Now that you have had the opportunity to practice PBL in your classroom you will discover strategies to take your projects to the next level. We will share best practices and collaborate on project design and delivery using the Headrush system, as well as learn and share effective practices to manage groups, and incorporate quality scaffolding, assessment mapping, and evaluation of student learning.
Target Audience: Specialists with 2+ years of experience who wish to elevate their instructional practice with a focus on project-based entrepreneurial activities.
Employer Engagement: Outreach and Implementation
Learn the power of Employer Engagement from community experts in the field. This workshop will work through the four tiers of the JAG Employer Engagement framework and include a variety of opportunities with our JAG Kentucky and National employer partners and credentialing organizations.
Target Audience: Specialists and Managers with 2+ years of experience who want to provide intentional opportunities for employment, certification, and educational approaches to participants utilizing methods that lead to lasting partnerships.
Trauma-Informed Care: Delivery Beyond the ACEs Study
Beyond understanding that Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) exist, this workshop will aim at developing practices that shift us from Trauma-Aware to Trauma-Responsive and honoring the way JAG encourages Post-Traumatic Growth. We will share best practices around coaching resilience, creating safe spaces, and the power of vulnerability. Learn from our partners at ESSDACK during this deep dive session on Trauma-Informed Care.
Target Audience: Specialists and Managers with 2+ years of experience that want to create resilient classrooms where participants self-regulate behaviors leading to personal growth and success.
